Sinsheep Lust and Envy

I'll be frank, I've never really gotten the deal with the seven deadly sins. I always thought, dunno, hurting people, killing people, theft, rape, etc. were the bad things ... but no, the things that get you condemned to hell are thought crime. Thinking bad thoughts is worse than doing bad things, because you might be doing bad things for a higher cause - like because God or an infallible Pope told you to do them.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, I did not know better, I am fallible, and thus I thought God would tell his own once we slaughtered all these potential heretics.

Of course, I don't mean to single out any particular religion here. The last half-century has furnished us with plenty examples of other religions, from Communism to Islam, which have gotten up to terrible things in the name of a higher cause. And still a bit of lust is considered a deadly sin. Huh.

Sinsheep Pride

Just three more deadly sins to go, should be done before the holy days pass by. Praise be to the lamb of seven horns who was sheared to death only to be re-born and re-wooled.

Greed is God

It's not a typo, it's an Easter-based mis-quote. Now bleat, bleat with capitalist sheep, and enjoy the day that pig's get 'etted, while the baa-baa brigade takes over the two-legs better committee.

Cat Nessie

The Cat Nessie of Cheshire ... just dig that grin ... is a rare species of acquatic serpentinous and pisciferous feline.

Catchbugkitty

The insect's dead, compound eyes looked at him invitingly, tempting, teasing, wheedling, demanding that he play the bloody game again.

Awesome.

This tree. This absolutely ordinary tree, sucking carbon out of the air itself and using it to build its own body with nothing more than sunlight and chemistry and evolution, this is AWESOME. That made up religion of yours? That is not awesome.

Any questions?

Variations on a Grid

Ye olde caption.
The Nazi Apple got me started on a tangent, wondering what could be done with a basic 5x5 grid and a few other arbitrary rules, like no 2x2 blocks of black squares ... And I came up with a few interesting logo-mimics.

Them Nazi Apples

All Hail the Führer Machine!
Also, I came upon some really neat art that summarizes my feelings quite well. Kudos to Herr Fiodor.

Ballot Magic

Democracy often becomes a mere magical ritual to bind together a society with it's elites and leaders, though they may have no interest in the well-being of that society. It is the act of marking off a little box of paper that at once makes a person feel like they have "participated" and "done something" and also have some "say" in the way things are run. However, if the veil grows too thin and the wizard behind the curtain becomes apparent, the legitimacy of a pseudo-democracy may collapse in the blink of an eye.

This is a problem, which afflicts, and will afflict more and more, the current European "parliament" and technocracy. Not to speak of the Slovenistani situation.

The King of Sheeps, our lord and messiah, who came to Earth and died for our sins upon the Shears of the Sinful Shepherd.

If sheep imagined gods, they would look sheepish.

Cherry and Dog

Cherry blossom season is here. Time to make like the Sphynx and chill.
